When Everything Goes As Planned

We have been back in the city for a month now, house sitting my parent's house, after leaving our terrible winter rental. We were super excited to move back up to the property this weekend. We had our to-do list to insure all that needed to be done was completed, so we can finally get settled back home.

First, we need to connect the water pressure tank in the shed to the underground pipe that goes to the RV. Solder copper fittings and pipes together, hoping nothing will leak once finished and the water comes forcibly through the pipes.

Next, attach a faucet to the other end of the pipe, next to the RV site, to then attach a hose so that our temporary home will finally have running water!

After, skirt the RV with rigid Styrofoam insulation to keep the pipes from freezing; an extra precaution, even though we have heated tanks. With a foot of snow still on the ground, and snow falling Sunday, we don't want to take any chances.

Last, we need to de-winterize the RV, so we can access the water.

We head up every weekend over the course of the month to pick away at this to-do list.

First weekend: take measurements.

Second weekend: fittings we bought don't fit.

Third weekend: solder correct fittings.

Forth weekend: (moving weekend!) put everything together, attach faucet, turn on water... pipe is leaking... turn off water... throw in the rag, literally.

No time to insulate; therefore, not the day to de-winterize. The weekend is over. Back to the city we head. Moving on to week 5.

Everything goes planned when you plan that nothing will go right! No expectations equals no disappointment. Only something learned, and hopefully wisdom gained.
