Struggling Spring

This spring sure has been a struggle. It was a struggle just for it to get here. The snow would melt and snow boots would be put away, just for inches of snow to fall again, with little girls begging to go build snowmen in May. But, finally spring has come this past May long weekend, in time to celebrate Eden's 7th birthday.

Spring struggles also came as sickness. First Eden with ear infections and strep throat, to then pass on to Trinity and me. The day after recovering we came down with colds. Four weeks of a constant sore throat, headaches, coughs, and congestion, I just couldn't get over it. No energy to do anything, I dragged myself through the days of work, home schooling, house work, and day to day events. I'm starting to feel better, but waiting on blood work to see what the problem is, as my whole body seems to be thrown off it's regular beat - including my actual heart beat, dropping into the 40s throughout the day. Jason is now on week 3 of this terrible throat cold - praying he is well soon.

However, the sun is shining and it picks up my soul, giving me energy to work outside and on the house.

Jason and I finally conquered the interior railing these past two weekends! It looks great and we're relieved to have it done. We just hope that everything is good on the inspection side of things, as this will pass us to our temporary occupancy permit. We'll be working on trim and interior doors next. Our kitchen cabinets have been ordered and we're working on our ideas for the exterior siding.

For awhile we were quite stressed out, unsure how we were going to finish the house as we were being denied a mortgage (we had been currently building using a line of credit). However, with tiring patience and God's timing, we found a bank who was willing to take our line of credit and turn it into a proper mortgage including some extra money to finish the house. We are so very, very grateful to move forward.

The girls are looking forward to summer and the end of school. With Bible camp, art camp, and horse camp this summer, they will be busy learning lots of new and fun skills. We look forward to a visit from my sister and niece in June as well sleepovers with friends at home. We hope many of you will also find your way up to the mountain top. We welcome you all.
