Well...

I'd have to say that the earth is fascinating. Last week we had the well on the property tested. Originally when it was dug in 2008 it was 480 feet deep. Last week the well guy hit water at 423 feet. That's really incredible to imagine. He pumped water out of it for 4 hours straight without any problems. I've learned we need approximately 10 gallons a minute from a well to live very comfortably. The well rated at a minimum of 15 gallons a minute. The water analysis came back great. All minerals and metals below standard amounts, pH excellent, no bacteria, although the water is SUPER hard - but we expected that. That was the last subject to be removed.

Our court date is tentatively set for December 11th. We're praying that no one shows up. We're praying that December 12th we'll have an early Christmas present.

toDAY

I opened this page tonight and ended up deleting it because I felt as though I had nothing to say. Nothing to report... nothing new in the outward process. Just another day.

But, then my heart whispered.

It is in these times when all moments matter and are worth saying. Just because things haven't changed on the outside, it doesn't mean nothing is changing on the inside.

Our hearts wrestle with each option, question each decision. As we wait, we wait without knowing what is to come and what to be prepared for.  Each day we toss away ideas, only to find ourselves revisiting them the next. It's such a circle.

So, although I felt I had nothing to share, each day is a day closer to reaching our heart dream. This day is as important as any other. Each day is a day to learn, research, heart-search, grow, and trust. No day is wasted.  No day is empty.

Another step

We had an accepted offer yesterday on the property we want, which is all very exciting, but we still have to go through the wait of seeing if anyone will outbid us and then on the acceptance of the offer through the court system. We should know sometime in December. Until then, we sit tight and wait - again.

Our house plans came in the mail earlier this week. It has been fun pouring over each print and just as much intimidating. It's so much more important to focus on one step at a time.

One thing I'd have to say though is how valuable it is to know people who have done similar things before. The wisdom and knowledge they pass on is priceless. It is easy for pride to get in the way, where I don't want to take the advice given to me, but it is also very humbling to remember that God put us all on this earth to learn from each other. It is hard to take so much information at a time. We'll have to find a system to document all that we learn so, when the time comes to tackle that step, we will be prepared. I have no doubt that we'll fail at many things during this process, and people will shake their heads, but thankfully it's part of our journey. Each step, no matter how difficult, is one to push us to grow.

Back to the Beginning

We heard back from the lot owners Thursday. It was what we expected. We walked away, feeling fine about it all.

We decided to put an offer on another lot in the same area. It just so happens that it is the property in this rural subdivision that we initially fell in love with. We feel like we're back at the beginning of this journey all over again. It's one of the points to this whole blog. We will always find ourselves at a genesis - a new one or even a old one. What a great thing - to make the old new again! What opportunities we have.

The property is a foreclosure, so the process is much more tedious and drawn out. With my limited understanding of it all, although we have given an offer, we have to wait to see if it is accepted and if it is, the court still could decline it, but if it isn't declined other people still have the ability to bid on it. It is going to be another learning experience, so we'll see how things go.

On another note, the straw bale learning package came in the mail this week. We can't wait to start burying ourselves in it.
