Things are coming along slowly with the house. With both of us working fulltime, it only leaves a day for house work on the weekend while we try to keep the other day open for some much needed family time.
After ripping out drywall from the plumbing leak, the rest of the month has been somewhat successful. We've managed to put up the girls bedroom ceiling, install their bathroom vanity, hang hooks and hangers, and do some mudding touchups. The HRV is hooked up and running, keeping the moisture out of the house, and we hung the second ceiling fan.
Most house work gets put off because of the cold and snowy weather. Cutting hardwood in the windy freezing weather isn't much fun. We've run out of funds for now, so we're working on what we can with what we have, which is enough to keep us plenty busy.
Most weeks are full of bringing in fire wood, snow blowing the driveway, and shoveling paths. The girls and I stay busy during the week with school work, knitting circle, a trip to town for groceries and the library, and lots of book reading.
I'm happy to say that I'm still enjoying the winter paradise and not as eager for spring as I used to be when living in the city. Everything is so white and beautiful and most days we have clear skies.
I finally feel as though some of the stresses are lifting as we feel more settled in the house and have the necessities that we longed for so long for.
