Many of you have been asking how the last 3 weeks have gone since my post. It kind of went like this:
Dead mouse smell for 5 days.
No smell for 3 days.
Dead mouse smell for 1 day.
More masking tape.
No more smell.
Wrecked my back and bed ridden pretty much for 4 days, recovered slowly for 2 weeks (still recovering).
Frost fans in the vineyard next door on full throttle from 7pm until 8am each night; sounds like a helicopter landing on our roof = very little sleep.
Subtle dead mouse smell for 1 day; currently masking it by boiling cloves and cinnamon.
Found bear scat in the back yard beside the rabbit pen. Rabbits still alive. Phew.
The better news is the following:
Sold Jason's truck.
Bought an AWD car for Jason to commute in (yay for generous parents).
Therefore, freed up money...
Well casing, pump, and tank all hooked up! We have water at the property!!!! Woot woot!!
Next steps:
Get property appraised.
Find a lender.
Find a builder with the best quote to build.
Hopefully start building in the spring!
As for now, we just look ahead to tomorrow. We plan what we can, while keeping our hands open to what is being given.
